Thread reducing inserts

Specialist Marine Fasteners provide a range of inserts designed for pre-tapped holes.

These type of inserts are also commonly used as a thread reducer, and offer a fast and low-cost way to repair damaged or thread-stripped holes or to reduce the thread size of a pre-drilled hole.

Our thread reducing inserts are manufactured in the UK from marine grade stainless steel 316 (A4) for the best resistance to corrosion.

 

• The external thread of the insert is a standard metric size. 

• They have a 45 degree shoulder and undercut.

• The lead-in is chamfered at 10 degrees. 

• Sizes range from M4 to M12
